Salma Hayek Stuns In Tight Yellow Sweater At Gucci Show During Milan Fashion Week

Salma Hayek sure knows how to make a stylish splash — and that’s just what she did at the Gucci show during Milan Fashion Week, where she showed off her assets in a tight sweater. Did you love her look?

Salma Hayek, 49, put her curves on full display as she sat in the front row for the Gucci Spring 2016 show during Milan Fashion Week on Sept. 24. The sexy actress opted for a cool, colorful look — and even when she’s all covered up there’s no concealing her killer figure, which was visible in her tight yellow sweater and brown skirt.

You can’t rain on Salma’s stylish parade! The star arrived at the show, fresh from London Fashion Week, in a powder blue coat, which she wore over an embroidered yellow sweater and brown skirt, which stopped right at the knee. Matching brown platform pumps polished off her outfit perfectly — she was front row chic! The star attended the show with her husband, Francois-Henri Pinault, 53. Prior to sitting pretty at Gucci, the star was spotted in the front row at the Christopher Kane show in London with her hubby.

Salma’s sweater, from the Resort 2016 collection, kept her famous assets concealed. The star rocked the look right-from-the-runway, pairing the sweater with the very same skirt the model rocked when the collection debuted — and we love the sexy twist Salma gave the look! A red lip and a red clutch polished off the separates perfectly. We love the pop of color her clutch added to her outfit — and it’s a bold way to add a splash to any look. Love it? Well, you’re in luck! You can SHOP for a red clutch right HERE on Amazon.com.

Whether she’s sitting pretty in the front row or rocking the red carpet, we love Salma’s stylish looks — and there was something so unexpected and fun about her get-up for the Gucci show.

What did you think of Salma’s outfit? Did you love her fashion show look as much as we did? Check it out and let us know!

Gucci RTW Spring 2016

“These hints gather on the collection’s clothes to form eclectic palimpsests rich with heterogeneous references. The clothes are transformed into psycho-geographic maps capable of recording the urban unconscious: maps that embroider the world within a discourse of affectionate intimacy.”

A snippet from the English translation of Alessandro Michele’s high-minded (we think) Gucci program notes. Got it?

Happily, fashion’s visual language is unlikely to get lost in translation, especially when spoken so skillfully, and with the eloquent emotion Michele employed. He furthered his exploration of the house’s previously latent tender side, a direction that resonated all the more gently for being shown at an open-air train stop, its roof cover barely shielding the models from the rain and gloom. As they walked atop a carpeted platform of pretty treachery — pink snakes slithering amidst black flowers — they evoked beautiful, wistful creatures of chic allegory.
Michele sought, he said, to be “free in the idea of beauty,” and so he was, mixing references, silhouettes and remarkable fabrics into his already clearly defined vision. To that end, his collection worked a tenuous balance beam, its full-on, decorative romance approaching couture yet with moments of cartoon overstatement and vintage familiarity that in the wrong hands could have led to a fall.

Michele proved stalwart, applying deeply researched motifs — Chinoiserie, Egyptian imagery, every feminine flourish imaginable, even sport and street — into a cohesive collection. A key motif: the Carte de Tendre, a Renaissance map of an imaginary land charting the geography of love. Michele used the work to inform his overarching concept and as a print on a dress, skirt and handbags. Snakes proved another recurring theme, all of their power, seduction and fear factor at seeming odds with the clothes, whether curving across the back of an ornately embroidered dress or slithering up the leg of a suit projecting Tyrolean naivety.

The ideas were endless — so much so that one wonders how Michele can maintain the pace. Within all of the storybook extravagance, he offered a greater degree of wearability than one might at first think — shirtdresses, pants and skirts, which, particularly when de-geeked for reality will have broader range than their runway personas suggest.

Much has been made of Michele’s nerdification of Gucci; this is not the Gucci Girl as she stormed the pop-culture vernacular back when. Yet there’s sensuality, too, in the overall delicacy of Michele’s approach, which, when rendered in transparent, pastel girlish froth, is even a bit twisted.

In the midst of all his creative expression, Michele injected plenty of fodder for more commercial consideration. How important are a house’s codes, its DNA? He worked iconography: a Gucci-green lace dress with red striped waist; floral overprinted logo coat; a wealth of diverse bags and shoes that paid archival homage. Yet such show of respect aside, Michele has forced a 180-degree shift in Gucci’s aesthetic. How will the customer — the one who bought Frida Giannini’s clothes — respond? What of the divide between editorial resonance and consumer lust? Gucci may be on the precipice of renewing that old dichotomy.

The answers remain to be seen. In the meantime, along with delivering beautiful clothes, Michele has triggered something too often lost in the increasingly commercial show-scape: Conversation. Kudos for that.

GUCCI LOAFERS AND CHANEL SLINGBACKS ARE EVERYWHERE AT FASHION WEEK

Three seasons ago, you couldn't walk within a five-block radius of a fashion week venue without seeing half a dozen pairs of Adidas's Stan Smith sneakers.

There's nothing revolutionary about the loafers above. It's clear that new creative director Alessandro Michele has brought some much-needed cool back to the Gucci label. People want to be wearing the most identifiable Gucci goods possible, and they integrate easily with shirt-and-jeans ensembles.

Chanel's new, but classic, two-tone slingbacks are also making the rounds this season. We've spotted them on WSJ. Magazine's Laura Stoloff, The Man Repeller's Leandra Medine and InStyle's Melissa Rubini (not pictured) this week. Their modest heel height makes them nearly as practical a choice as the Gucci clogs, but show-goers tend to pair them with skirts or dresses rather than pants.

Gucci Mane Autobiography Coming In 2016?

When one thinks of all the great stories behind the rise of a successful music act, Gucci Mane is surely at the top of the list, no?
The currently incarcerated rapper’s team announced via Twitter that Gucci Mane will release an autobiography sometime in 2016, which promises to reveal more about the man behind the moniker.
As reported by Complex,  the folks manning Gucci Mane’s Twitter account shared details of the yet unnamed autobiography. The tweets began flying in Wednesday afternoon with scant details about the book yet plenty about Guwop’s place in the game. There was mention of Gucci’s prolific releases, and it’s hard to argue with that assertion considering the sheer volume of music he’s released although he’s in jail until 2017 on federal gun charges.
“An autobiography of the life of Guccimane is also on the horizon and will be released within the next year,” read the leading tweet of the announcement from Gucci’s camp.
“Gucci is looking to capitalize off of all avenues from merchandising and touring, to social media, endorsements, and television,” added a following tweet.
Gucci has certainly been involved in the careers of some of the biggest acts in the South, and his team made sure to remind everyone of the vital role he’s played in growing the scene there.
Considering the Trapology mixtape Gucci delivered this summer and an upcoming movie this fall, there’s no reason to doubt the Trap House rapper on his designs in becoming an author. Will you be reading? Sound off in the comments if so.

Gucci Mane To Release An Autobiography "Within The Next Year"

Gucci Mane has had a busy summer. Even though he's still in jail the Trap House rapper dropped off (yet) another mixtape in July, announced plans to release his first movie this fall, and even joined LinkedIn last month. Today we also got a new Gucci Mane verse on Rick Ross' latest single as well as an announcement that he plans to release an autobiography.

News of the autobiography came via Gucci's admirably active Twitter account earlier today. So far all we know is that the biography is in the works and should be released within a year, which gives us all plenty of time to digest everything else Gucci does from now until then.

While Locked Up, Gucci Mane’s Been Hard At Work On His New Film ‘The Spot’

For as long as Gucci Mane has been locked up, one might not think he would be able to produce so much content as consistently as he does. Gucci shows off his work ethic yet again by preparing to put out a new film.
The 1017 Bricksquad general is releasing his very own movie called The Spot, to be released on Oct. 17 on iTunes and digital platforms everywhere. He took to Twitter to share the good news.

Gucci spars with Hong Kong landlords

Hong Kong - Landlords on Hong Kong’s Russell Street a year ago could boast the highest retail rents in the world. Now they are adjusting to a new reality.
Burberry Group, Kering and jewellry retailer Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group are pushing landlords to lower rents on existing properties as luxury brands are scaling back amid plummeting sales. TAG Heuer closed its Russell Street store last week, citing high rents and declining traffic.
Luxury retail sales have plunged amid China’s economic slowdown and President Xi Jinping’s austerity and anti- corruption campaigns, causing Hong Kong to relinquish the top spot to New York’s Fifth Avenue in November and spurring the biggest drop in retail rents this year since 2009. Also contributing to slack demand are a weaker yen and euro, prompting Chinese tourists to favour Japan and France over Hong Kong, said Helen Mak, senior director of research at Colliers International.
“Unavoidably rents will trend down,” says Marcos Chan, head of research for Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan at CBRE Group.“We don’t see any reason why retail will quickly see a rebound any time soon.”
jewellry, watches, clocks and valuable gifts sales fell 15.9 percent in the year ending June, according to Hong Kong Retail Management Association statistics.
In a July research report, Jones Lange LaSalle predicted high-street rents will drop 15 percent to 20 percent this year. That’s a far more bearish scenario than the 5 percent drop the company was forecasting at the end of last year.
Ground zero
Ground zero of the downturn is Russell Street, a mere block and a half long in the heart of the Causeway Bay retail district, lined with shops selling Montblanc pens, Omega watches and Swarovsky jewellry. Average monthly rents in the area fell 10.4 percent in the first half, according to Colliers.
Kering, the owner of the Gucci brand, has warned that it may close some of its shops in Hong Kong if rental costs don’t come down.
“Many landlords have not necessarily understood that the markets have changed,” Kering CFO Jean-Marc Duplaix said on a conference call with analysts in July.
Russell Street’s two largest landlords are Emperor International Holdings and Soundwill Holdings. A spokeswoman for Soundwill, whose tenants include Burberry and a Rado shop which is moving into the spot vacated by TAG Heuer, declined to provide rental figures.
Kowloon landlords
While luxury retailers are slowing down their pace of expansion, some mid-market shops are looking to expand and may be able to find more affordable options, CBRE’s Chan said in a Bloomberg Television interview on Tuesday.
“We see landlords are willing to negotiate with the retailers, a trend which did not happen in the past few years,” he said.
Street-level landlords in Central on Hong Kong Island, and across the harbour in Kowloon neighbourhoods that cater heavily to mainland shoppers, are also feeling the pinch. Average rents fell 15 percent in Tsim Sha Tsui in the first half, Colliers said.
Chow Tai Fook renewed its monthly lease at its Bank Center location on Nathan Road for HK$800 000 ($103 203), an almost 39 percent reduction, the Ming Pao newspaper reported. A Chow Tai Fook spokesperson declined to comment on the specific deal, saying “tenancy rental reduction varies in different districts and locations.”
Jewellry and watch chain Chow Sang Sang has closed two of its stores in the past nine months and has obtained rental reductions on a couple more of its 54 outlets.
Mall owners have weathered the downturn better, thanks to a more diversified tenant mix including restaurants, health and beauty centres and cosmetics shops as well as luxury brands.
“Our rental conversion is very much positive,” said Ronnie Chan, chairman of Hang Lung Group, which owns Fashion Walk in Causeway Bay. “But we have to keep refreshing our properties and keep changing tenants.”

Gucci, Burberry demand lower Hong Kong rents as market wilts

[PARIS] Luxury companies including Kering SA are demanding lower Hong Kong store rents to reflect the island city's waning appeal with wealthy Chinese shoppers.
The owner of the Gucci brand may close some of its shops there if those costs don't come down, Kering Chief Financial Officer Jean-Marc Duplaix said late on Monday.
"Many landlords have not necessarily understood that the markets have changed," he said, speaking on a conference call with analysts.
UK trenchcoat maker Burberry Group Plc said last week it may also try to lower its rent bill after sales growth slowed to a two-year low. Luxury spending in Hong Kong, one of the world's largest hubs for high-priced shopping, has been suffering since China began discouraging extravagant spending among government officials in late 2012.
Hong Kong accounted for more than 10 per cent of first-half Kering's luxury retail sales, the company said.
Burberry, with 17 shops in Hong Kong, gets a similar proportion of sales from that city and Macau, excluding licenses.
Hong Kong's "halcyon days are gone," said Exane BNP analyst Luca Solca. He expects watch and jewelry makers in particular to close sites there, and rents will come down. "This should in time moderate adverse developments for luxury players."
Swiss watch exports to Hong Kong slumped 20 per cent in the first half.
Kering has also started renegotiating rents in Macau and mainland China as part of a wider plan to contain costs, Duplaix said. Rental costs for luxury companies in Hong Kong could drop 20 per cent in the next 18 months, according to John Guy, an analyst at MainFirst Bank AG.
"Hong Kong luxury consumption as a region has peaked," he said.

Kate Middleton has the same Gucci bag as Rachel from 'Friends'

Could Kate Middleton be taking fashion tips from the hit TV show Friends? While the Duchess has never commented on whether or not she is a fan of the hit series, one Australian stylist noticed that she wore the same bag as Jennifer Aniston's character Rachel did in an episode.
"'Rachel' and #KateMiddleton have the same red #Gucci bag! Funny what you notice w watching old reruns of#Friends," wrote the owner of Perth Fashion Twitter account.

The bag in question is the Monogram Canvas Horsebit Shoulder Bag/Clutch from Gucci's 1921 Collection, according to whatkatewore.com, and it originally retailed for around $1,200. The classic clutch bares the company's logo, has leather trim, gold metal detailing and a detachable chain.

Kate was spotted with the bag on November 24, 2012, when she and husband Prince William were at Millennium Stadium in Cardiff to watch the match against New Zealand’s All Blacks team and attend a reception for the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust prior to the game.
Though the mom-of-two stepped out with the purse in 2012, it's likely she's owned it for a while as the episode it appeared in was 2003's "The One Where Ross Is Fine."
The Gucci bag is no longer available for purchase Photo: StyleHive

The bag is no longer available from Gucci and even an extensive search on Ebay yielded no results making this item a difficult one to find. While the 33-year-old's outfits and accessories are known to sell out within days of her wearing them, it seems the bag was discontinued before it even had a chance of experiencing the "Kate Effect."

Gucci Opens Its First Restaurant, and More of Today’s News

Photo: Courtesy of Gucci

Dine the Gucci way…

Armani has a restaurant on New York’s Fifth Avenue, and Ralph Lauren’s Polo Bar, on the same block, has become one of the city’s most exclusive reservations. Now Gucci has gotten in the restaurant game—though you’ll have to travel around the world to eat there. Gucci’s premiere bistro, called 1921 Gucci Café, is located within the brand’s Shanghai boutique and offers a full-service menu, which differs from that of the café affixed to the Gucci Museo in Florence.

Manolo expands…

If you love your BB pumps and Hangisi flats, we have some good news: Manolo Blahnik is launching a handbag collection. Inspired by his signature shoe silhouettes, the line of clutches comes in vibrant colors with jewel embellishments.  So is this the first step in a bigger expansion? “At the moment I have no plans to make other accessories,” said Blahnik

A new CEO at Kering…

Following CEO of luxury couture and leather goods Marco Bizzarri’s appointment to CEO of Gucci earlier this year, Kering has finally chosen a replacement of sorts. Former Unilever executive Grita Loebsack was named CEO of its luxury couture and leather goods emerging brands—that’s Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Brioni, Christopher Kane, Stella McCartney, and Tomas Maier—while François-Henri Pinault will continue as CEO of luxury couture and leather goods at Gucci, Bottega Veneta, and Saint Laurent. .
Dior returns home…

Where does one wear one of Raf Simons’ Fall 2015 fur dresses for Dior? In Christian Dior’s hometown of Granville, France, of course. The brand’s latest campaign finds Mica Arganaraz, Natalie Westling, and Julia Nobis in Simons’ mod pieces, reclining cliffside in the seaside village.
Keeping up with the Clevelands…

Mother-daughter model pairs seem to be all the rage these days—see the Spring ’15 Lanvin campaign—and no duo is more notable than Pat and Anna Cleveland. The two sat down to talk about the 1960s, beauty ideals, and “couture university” in a new interview.

Psst…did you hear? This fall, all of the fashion, trend, and beauty coverage you love—plus so much more—will move to a new home at Voguerunway.com. Click here for your front-row seat to all things style, and get the latest news sent straight to your inbox!

Gucci Partners With Dover Street Market For Four International Shop-In-Shops

Gucci has announced a partnership with Dover Street Market. The Italian fashion house will launch pop-up shops at all four of the concept store locations — which are located are in New York, London, Tokyo and Beijing.
"It seemed very new to me. I think [Alessandro Michele] will be influencing fashion a lot. It's a revolution in terms of Gucci. I think he's really in tune with what's happening," Adrian Joffe, chief executive officer of Dover Street Market andComme des Garçons International, told WWD about the brand's new creative director.
"We're always really open to working with people who have great creativity and a strong vision. It goes with our spirit of telling stories and having something new to say. When I believe in something, I take it as far as I can," Joffe said.
Previously, Dover Street Market has previously hosted many other luxury brands, including Céline, Prada and Saint Laurent
"Bigger is not necessarily better for us, and I think they appreciate this challenge," Joffe told WWD about hosting shop-in-shops at the same place as these established fashion brands. "There's no point doing the same corporate image. The point is to give them a chance to express themselves in a different way."
Rei Kawakubo and Joffe opened the original market location on London's Dover Street back in 2004.
"We were enthusiastic when Dover Street Market approached us with the idea of this global collaboration, which is emblematic of our new vision for Gucci," Marco Bizzarri, president and ceo of Gucci, said.
Bizzarri added that there are only a few comparable "contemporary backdrops for fashion in the world today" and that "building unique and exciting collaborations with selected specialty stores is a new page at Gucci."
