0Christopher Bailey has cemented his position as one of the highest paid chief executives in the FTSE 100 after the Burberry boss was handed more than £9m in shares from bonus schemes.
Bailey, who was catapulted into the top job a year ago and remains the fashion company’s creative head, immediately sold half of the shares to cover his tax liabilities.
A disclosure to the stock market showed that 350,000 shares he was awarded in 2010 have been released and are worth around £5.5m at current share prices. Another tranche of shares, worth around £3.7m, have paid out from a 2012 long-term scheme which had performance conditions attached to it.
The shares were released this week to Bailey, who was also awarded shares worth £3.8m at current share prices in a long-term incentive plan, although the exact value of the award will be determined over four years and depend on performance and the future share price.
The payouts to Bailey follow the annual meeting a week ago where the company managed to avoid a rerun of the revolt over pay that took place following Bailey’s appointment. A year ago, 52% of investors had voted against the company’s pay deals as it emerged that Bailey’s £1.1m salary was supplemented by a £440,000 cash allowance. He had also received a one-off award of shares worth £15m.
This year there was less confrontation with investors after Bailey received £7.9m, made up of his salary, allowance and payments such as £303,000 for his pension, £1.8m for his annual bonus and £4.4m from a long-term incentive plan. Almost 93% of investors endorsed the company’s pay deals last week.
Speaking at the company’s annual general meeting this month, Burberry’s chairman, Sir John Peace, said the company had been left “extremely disappointed” by the 2014 revolt and had sought to engage with investors on Bailey’s pay. “Through extensive engagement, we have sought to better explain the details behind his package,” said Peace.
Bailey’s pay deal makes him one of the best paid executives at the helm of a FTSE 100 company, as was his predecessor Angela Ahrendts who he replaced after she quit to join Apple.
Bailey was elevated to chief executive after 12 years overseeing its creative direction. Despite his crucial role at the business as creative chief, his pay only became public once he was elevated to the board last year to become chief executive.
The latest stock exchange disclosure sheds light on pay deals for other senior figures outside the Burberry boardroom. Regional heads Pascal Perrier and Andrew Maag cashed in shares awarded in 2012 worth £1.5m and £1.2m respectively. They are left with shares in the company worth £1.6m and £1.2m respectively.

Today marks what would be Louis Vuitton’s birthday. The French businessman was born in 1821 and founded his eponymous leather-goods maker in 1854 in Paris.
The company has grown into one of the world’s most recognizable designer brands, thanks to its signature monogram printed all over its products. In 2014, Louis Vuitton celebrated its 160th anniversary, and in the same year, the company posted revenue of €30.6 billion (about $33 billion).
What began as a modest trunk-packing shop is now part of the LVMH conglomerate, which is headed by Bernard Arnault. LMVH also owns luxury brands Celine, Berluti, Donna Karan, Marc Jacobs, Givenchy, Fendi and others.
Celebrities favor the label’s footwear for appearances ranging from the red carpet to runway shows. Louis Vuitton’s Series 3 campaign for fall ’15 stars actress Jennifer Connelly, who has walked the red carpet in the label’s booties and heels.
Julianne Moore has also worn the label for a handful of red carpet appearances, including one in which she wore booties with an allover LV monogram print, which she paired with bold knitted tights. Models Miranda Kerr and Riley Keough have worn the brand’s denim Swinging Half Boot.

Battle snakes and sandstorms with Chanel Iman in her 2015 outtakes!

When we took Chanel Iman to Monument Valley for her 2015 SI Swimsuit photo shoot, we knew she would be up for the challenge of standing out among one of our country's most beautiful backdrops. What we didn't know was all the hurdles our favorite Atlanta native would have to face!
Photo:
From some harmless pranks with a fake snake to an unexpected bike race, Chanel kept her cool (and her sense of humor!) throughout her time working with famed photographer James Macari. She was even a good enough sport to take a photo with a passing fan, who just couldn't help but admire our two-time SI Swimsuit beauty. Can you blame him?
Then there were the sandstorms...oh, those nasty sandstorms. Never did we imagine that flying sand could be so painful—trust us. But despite the conditions and one misstep on a cliff, Chanel commanded all our attention and rightfully so. Have you seen how AMAZING her photos are? GO. LOOK. NOW.
Be sure to watch Chanel's complete 2015 SI Swimsuit outtakes reel above, and keep coming back to Swim Daily for more funny moments from the making of our latest issue!

Louis Vuitton The Tambour collection — Travel, nautical inspiration and sophistication are the beating heart of the first Louis Vuitton watch collection.

Louis Vuitton
Tambour… this unusual name for a watch collection nonetheless strikes both technical and historical chords among watchmaking specialists. Technically speaking, the tambour (drum) is the side wall of the movement barrel, while historically it is the shape and name of the first miniature watches created in Europe in the early 16th century.
A drum-roll start
This milestone launch corresponds to the horological ‘birth’ of Louis Vuitton, since Tambour was the first collection of watches from the venerable Maison. It was developed in 2002 within freshly installed workshops in La Chaux-de-Fonds, a town with a proud watchmaking history located not too far from the French village where Mr Louis Vuitton was born in 1821. Heritage, memory and savoir-faire are all notions deeply cherished by Louis Vuitton.
Equally dear to its heart is creative design, based on a resolutely future-oriented approach featuring a blend of fine craftsmanship and technology that is admirably showcased by the sheer wealth and diversity of the Tambour collection. From the first Tambour Chronograph LV277 in 2002 equipped with a COSC-certified automatic Zenith El Primero movement housed in the collection’s iconic elegant round case, through to the fully-fledged watch collection in 2015, the variety of men’s and ladies’ models as well as of the movements driving them is truly impressive.

The wind in its sails
Alongside its cooperation with Zenith, Louis Vuitton has also associated with the most prestigious movement manufacturers – La Joux-Perret and Dubois Dépraz – in designing its calibres bearing the famous LV initials,  and of course with La Fabrique du Temps that Louis Vuitton acquired in 2011 and integrated in its new manufacturing facility inaugurated in Geneva in October 2014.
Since Louis Vuitton organises the preliminary sailing competition preceding the America’s Cup - of which it is also the title partner since 2015 - the Tambour collection naturally includes several models dedicated to the nautical world. The first of these was launched in 2004: the Tambour Louis Vuitton Cup Regatta, a split-seconds self-winding chronograph with a regatta countdown module developed by Dubois Dépraz, followed by several versions through to 2007. Then came the Tambour Regatta Navy in 2010, two Tambour Regatta America’s Cup models in 2013 dedicated to the competition held in Dubai; and for the 10th anniversary of the collection, the Louis Vuitton Automatic Countdown. The Tambour Spin Time series, featuring an exclusive movement displaying the hours on rotating cubes, was released in 2010 and subsequently interpreted in a Regatta version in 2012.

Personalisation and refinement
Some Tambour models can be customised at will. These include the ethereal Tambour Mystérieuse (2009) based on a system of sapphire discs giving the impression that there is no mechanism behind them. Future owners can choose the case material, the type of gems, the paving on the mechanism, as well as to have their initials appear on the oscillating weight.
Women also like to feel the beat of the Tambour and the models devoted to them display a degree of refinement in which aesthetic beauty is matched by mechanical sophistication, as exemplified in the Tambour Monogram Tourbillon. The slimmer Tambour case frames a mother-of-pearl dial and houses the self-winding LV 80 movement from La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton.

And in 2015?
The Tambour Graphite and Tambour éVolution are interpreted in chronograph and GMT versions. The “Graphite” variations feature a dual-time display by means of a rotating disc bearing the hours and juxtaposed with the hour-markers, swept over by a hand enabling immediate readings of the time in two time zones. The globe motif appearing in the dial centre, featuring subtle shades of grey, endows this Tambour Graphite GMT with a distinctive aura of elegance. This travel companion also exists in a self-winding steel chronograph version.
The three new Tambour éVolution models – GMT, Chronograph GMT and Spin Time GMT – are distinguished by a DLC-coated steel case as well as a black dial and strap that all serve to accentuate the sleek and ultra-masculine side of this line launched in 2013. They house dedicated self-winding movements with a 42-hour power reserve and beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour. The new leather strap creates an ultra-modern carbon effect, while the historical brand “V” is reinterpreted as a strikingly designed crown guard.

For women, the Tambour Monogram that already existed in 28, 33 and 35 mm variations is even daintier this year in a 21 mm version. Small is beautiful as well as precious here, since this extremely trendy miniaturisation lends an authentic jewellery touch to the watch – even in its non-gemset steel version – that is further enhanced by the white mother-of-pearl or black opaline guilloché dials. This Tambour Monogram Bijoux also comes in a full-set Rivière version driven by the same quartz movement.
Meanwhile, a revisited version of the famous LV80 self-winding calibre powers the Tambour Monogram “Sun” Tourbillon, available in pink or white gold and interpreted through sapphires and the strap as colourful fuchsia pink or blue versions. The snow-set dial is largely taken up by a large flower composed of three guilloché mother-of-pearl petals, while the fourth petal is composed of the tourbillon and its two bridges that are juxtaposed to form an equally unmistakable floral motif.

Lily-Rose Depp Is the New Face of Chanel (Which Officially Makes Her the Coolest Teenager Ever)

In 2015 Lily-Rose Depp attended Chanel runway shows, then modeled in Chanel runway shows, landed her first editorial spread and is starring in her first major film. And as if that wasn’t enough to solidify her title as the most impressive 16-year-old on the planet, she just landed her very first Chanel ad campaign, joining the brand as their latest ambassador. And (no surprise) she’s already a total pro.
Lily-Rose Depp Chanel
For her first role for the house, Depp’s fronting the Pearl eyewear collection, which includes staring in gorgeous editorial photos (shot by the brand’s creative director, Karl Lagerfeld) and an accompanying video (be advised: her Blue Steel is exceptionally fierce). She wears an adorable metallic-finished scalloped button-down and a pair of the pearl-adorned pink round-frame sunnies.
“Lily-Rose is stunning, she’s a young girl from a new generation with all the qualities of a star,” announced Lagerfeld.
One explanation for her killer looks and ease in front of the camera (really, you have to watch the clip — she’s already a pro) is probably thanks to some pointers from mom (and Chanel muse), Vanessa Paradis. Paradis, 42, is a longtime friend of Lagerfeld, having been a Chanel brand ambassador since 1990 — ever since she fronted the Coco perfume and “Girl” Chanel handbag campaigns.

Depp’s been showing off her supermodel-skills-in-training since she first stepped out to watch the Chanel Métiers d’Art show in N.Y.C. show in April and again when she made her runway debut at the Fall-Winter 2015-2016 Haute Couture show earlier this month (both times accompanied by her model mama).

She modeled a strapless black velvet dress and sparkly star headband alongsideLily Collins, who also modeled the high-fashion label’s new collection and took a front-row seat at the craps table (getting “all in” to the game). Paradis, sporting a matching bob to her daughter, also walked in the show clad in a golden top paired with matching flare trousers.
Chanel also tapped into another acting/modeling/all-around-fabulous family to model in the casino-themed show. Gabriel-Kane Day-Lewis — 20-year-old son of Oscar-winning actor Daniel Day-Lewis escorted Julianne Moore to her seat at at the gambling tables. We only hope Lewis and Depp will star in the next ad campaign for the brand together!
